Tents are used to store items and can be placed anywhere on the map, except inside buildings. Placing a tent can be tricky - try slowly moving the player's character to one side with the inventory open while repeatedly attempting to pitch the tent. A camping tent takes up three inventory slots. Camping tents may be accessible via prone. The Car Tent is a highly sought after tent in DayZ Standalone. When packed, it looks similar to the Large Tent.
It can be entered on foot, and vehicles can drive inside it and park, which makes it somewhat less visible to other players. The front flap of the tent can be opened and closed by looking at it, or through right clicking on the tent in the inventory screen.
To dismantle it, make sure that its inventory is empty and perform the action on the bag inside.

The Canopy Tent is a type of equipment in DayZ Standalone. Added in patch 1.08.

The Canopy Tent when set up is a tent capable of high storage capacity, making it a relatively useful storage container to establish a larger base with.
Use[edit edit source]
It can be entered and therefore used as a small house or base. When inside the tent you're protected from rain and coldness. When placed, its 6 doors can be opened and closed individually.
A Camo Net and a set of Xmas Lights can be attached to the Canopy Tent. The Canopy Tent comes in 4 variants: white, blue, brown and a checkered red/yellow Luna Park variant.
